Pride Mobility Products Corp., the world’s leading designer
and manufacturer of mobility products including Jazzy
Power Chairs, Go-Go Travel Mobility, Pride Scooters
& Lift Chairs, is proud to announce its 2005 Seminar Tour.
For the sixth consecutive year, representatives from Pride
will set out on a 24 city seminar tour to train providers,
physical therapists and occupational therapists in the latest
advances in Pride’s technology and services. The Pride
Mobility Seminar Tour begins in March and continues into late
August.
This year’s Jazzy power chair seminar features four
courses designed to educate participants on electrical and
mechanical functions, end-to-end funding for mobility products,
and hands on applications for troubleshooting. This year a
newly designed CEU program includes five different presentations
on seating and positioning. These courses provide 0.6 CEU
from the University of Pittsburgh as well as six contact hours.
The presentations will be taught by several different well-respected
OT’s and PT’s at each city, showcasing different
aspects about seating and positioning at each location: Susan
Johnson Taylor, OTR/L, Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago
will present: “Seating & Wheeled Mobility”;
Penny J. Powers, PT, MS, ATP, and Jenny Robison PT, ATP, Vanderbilt
Medical Center will present: “Seating, Positioning and
Mobility: Improving Functional Outcomes 2005”; Christine
Maurer, MPT, ATP, Shepherd Center will present: “Evaluation
for Success”; Janice Fisher PT, MS, ATP and Ginny Paleg
MS, PT will present: “Power Kids” and Mark R.
Schmeler, MS, OTR/L, ATP, University of Pittsburgh Medical
Center will present: “Elkectric Wheelchair Seating and
Mobility: An Evidence-Based Perspective”.
Cost for all wheel chair classes, excluding the seating
and positioning, is $50 per person. This includes a continental
breakfast, deli lunch, and seminar materials. The seating
and positioning class is $75 per person and also includes
a continental breakfast, deli lunch, and seminar materials.
“Pride is privileged to have such quality seating and
positioning instructors on the tour this year. Our Pride chair
technical courses have always been a huge success and this
year will be no different. With the pending changes in Reimbursement,
our “Reimbursement for Power Mobility Products in 2005”
course, will provide a detailed understanding on how these
changes affect the industry,” says Dan Fedor, General
Manager of Reimbursement and Compliance. For a complete schedule
